Employable Teachables

Although I feel confident and comfortable teaching in all classroom settings.

Below are areas of specialty I have direct experience and knowledge teaching.

Fine Arts

I have experience teaching middle school art in the 2016/2017 school year. As a photographer and painter who enjoys learning new art mediums I have extensive experience working with youth to learn art technique.

Computer Science

I taught middle school ICT (information, communication, technology) in the 2016/2017 school year. I have confident teaching: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and all Google applications/platforms.

Language Arts

I have experience teaching Language Arts to grade 3 and 6 and am knowledgeable about teaching phonics, spelling reading, and writing.

I understand various techniques for helping English Language Learners that have various linguistic skills and come from various countries of origin.

Spanish Language

I am fluent in Spanish through my informal education living and working in both Mexico and Spain. I aim to take the DELE exam to certify my Spanish knowledge in the upcoming 2015 school year.

I have also taught the English component at a 50/50 bilingual school in Mexico and have first hand experience speaking Spanish in the classroom to native speakers.

With the knowledge gained taking a online course from Thompson Rivers University pertaining to teaching Mathematics I feel comfortable teaching elementary Mathematics.

My undergraduate degree in International Development Studies gave me background knowledge in the social, economic, geographical, and political aspects of countries from around the world.

Physical education is an important aspect to develop coordination and imagination through play.

I have worked at various camps and know many games that can be done by all students regardless of physical ability.
